Several structural failures occur in the columndue to lack of confinement. The circular column is not popular for regular buildings. use spiral only familiar tothe column. Many design engineers usesquare columns with hoops and cross tiesas As far as authors’ knowledge, therewasonly a study carried out on square columnswith spirals For this reason, authors propose introduce new type innovative confinement system using spiralsas combination thereof, which has never been previous studies. No code’s provision also applicable tothis confinement.This research was conducted investigate performance each these systems promising option future instead traditional To achieve objective research, two-phase conducted. first phasewas analyze potential, design, formation, assemblyof systemconsisting (SPIL), octagonal (SS8I), an interlocking among (SPIP), plain concrete specimen (PC) benchmark. second experimental program that involvesa mix-designof concrete, preparation specimens various systems, compression tests 3500-kN UTM. test results indicate SPIP higher initial stiffness, peak stress, strain ductility compared others.
